not so great

There is alot of information. It is a good review for anatomy but, the diagrams are very confusing. I read other consumer reviews before I had to purchase for a class and thought " oh, it cant be that bad." Well, it is. If you have any say in what books to choose from, try to find something else.

DON'T BUY THE E-BOOK!!!

I purchased this E-book in May of 2015. This is probably a great learning tool. However, when I downloaded it, only the Concepts book downloaded. I called Amazon and talked to their support team. They said the publisher had not cleared the Applications book for download (even though I paid almost $100 for it!). Amazon support said they were going to take the option to purchase the E-book off of their site until the publisher cleared it for download AND that as soon as the publisher did, I would be able to download it. It is now July. I am halfway through the class on this and still don't have the E-book, YET THEY'RE STILL SELLING IT!!!

I am a loyal customer of Amazon, but this has really really upset me. I finally decided to write a review so no one else makes the same mistake I did in purchasing this E-book.

(Not sure how "new kaki fan" got there. hmmm).
The negative reviews written previously are a fairly good assessement of this book. I took this course in prep for MRI and even the teacher admitted that she's tried a variety of texts and none are perfect. I think she picked this book because it comes with workbook and at first glance, appears to be geared toward students trying to memorize as little as possible in a short time. Thankfully, she recorded her lectures, complete with slideshow, which students could review on the web. She wanted us to largely pay attention to her lecture. The text in this book isn't bad - there are alot of good things, but then there are some problems. Probably was bothered me the most was the drawings as there is a destinct lack of consistancy from one drawing to the next. I just accepted it as being impossible to draw anatomy with more consistancy as everyone is a little different. Let's face it, cross-sectional isn't easy. When you find yourself guessing where the portable vein is after studying it thoroughly, you realize that a book can only provide so much. In the end, we didn't use the book at all. I spent more time studying the larger atlases at my school library. Those were great, especially the one by Dr. Frank Netter.

Silverstein's poetry is good for the soul both young and old

My kids immediately fell in love with Shel Silverstein's when I introduced them to his work about 7 years ago... They were 1 and 4 at the time. (The older one got his younger brother interested as the younger one got older.) They are now 8 and 11 years old, and they still get a kick out of reading Silverstein's poems: They laugh out loud when they read his poems, and I get great joy from that. So this is our 10th or so of his books, and the boys love it. Can't go wrong with silly, clean poems that bring laughter to little children. Good for adult hearts, too!

My sons love Silverstein. His books are pretty much what they want to hear at bedtime. I think Shel Silverstein (from an adult's perspective) was a very multi-dimensional, interesting, intellectual, creative and talented man. He's a bit edgier than "Dr Suess" in the sense that some of his poems don't have very happy endings - but in our case, his books have stimulated our son's minds to think outside of the box.

I grew up reading Shel Silverstein books all throughout elementary school. I was so glad I was able to find them on Amazon for such a low price. I am excited to read these and reminisce on memories from my childhood. Falling Up was one of my favorite books of poems by Shel Silverstein. I am even more happy that these books are in great condition. I also love that they are hardback and come with a protective sleeve.

What an awesome inspiring book! Eye openng, Revelatory, Challenging! To know God wants to use just common everyday ordinary people -- Wow, that means I'm in that mix. Very exciting and encouraging. There is a 'Host' ready and available --- Got the other 2 books in the series as well and can't wait to dive into them. Love it . . . Highly recommend it . . . This book falls into the 'need to know' catagory for every believer . . . And to walk in . . . Thank you Jesus for this book and thank you Kevin for being obedient in penning it.

A great book about angels

This book was fabulous. I always loved books about angels but this one gives personal experiences along with teaching about what angels do from the Bible. The author actually tells you how you can encounter angels in your life. I also bought the first book by the same author and have book 3 as well. I couldn't stop reading because this book was so incredible. No books anywhere explain the things about this subject like the series of books by Kevin Basconi.

2nd book of trilligy. easy to read a bit repetive on the stories. BUT I LOVED the STORIES. having been in the healiing ministry on and off for many years I know GOD is REAL, and IO know Angels are real. I lifted a car off a boy who was run under a car. In 1 second the car rose a foot higher off the ground. in another case my daughter was knocked out drowning, when invisible ANGEL picked her up and set her on river bank, Oh she was the girl 14 yers earlier who pulled the boy to safety who was under hot exhaust and was about to be crushed, So God gave her a break as well.

About the Author

Cedric Gondro is Associate Professor of computational genetics at the University of New England. He has extensive experience in analysis of livestock projects using data from various genomic platforms. His main research interests are in the development of computational methods for optimization of biological problems; statistical and functional analysis methods for high throughput genomic data (expression arrays, SNP chips, sequence data); estimation of population genetic parameters using genome-wide data; and simulation of biological systems.

Fine summary of theories of international relations

Way back when, I taught courses in international politics at Alfred University (in Western New York). This book was a nice resource, helping me develop lectures in a variety of perspectives on international relations.

The value of the book? It's description of an array of theories as to how world politics operates. Among the views: environmental theories, realist theory, systems theory, economic theories of imperialism and war, nuclear deterrence theory, integration, decision-making theories, and game theory. Other approaches, as well, are considered, but the preceding listing provides examples as to what this book considers.

In its day, this was a great resource, summarizing key theoretical perspectives in the study of international politics.

I had a chance to flip through this atlas ( I was looking for a quick reference in view of reviewing
CATs & MRIs with a USMLE slant).The text is system based,the lay-out straightforward (there are CAT sections & numbers filling up anatomic structures).There are few didactic diagrams,image quality on the other hand is good so basically this stimulates the student to get acquainted
swiftly with CATs. Ultrasounds are also good quality ( encouraging for beginners..).Joints pics and angiograms fair (latter not always).Nuclear medicine section a bit "oldy".

I lost this book and bought it a second time because I love it

Great atlas for me starting out my radiology training. High quality images of radiographs, CT, MRI, angio, fluro, and US. Has multiple modalities in many slices, and adult vs child images which is nice. I wish the book wasn't so large, makes it a little hard to fit in my bag.

Very detailed. Useful for my imaging class.

I am using this book for by Image-based Anatomy class and I must say I would not be able to survive the class without it. The picture sequence is very clear and the writer provides appropriate number of images for each scan plane. The information given is accurate. Sometimes, looking at sequences of picture gives you a much better learning experience than looking at a real moving sequence MRI/CT since you actually have a chance to digest information and observe every detail of the picture.

Some cons: I would appreciate a more detailed labeling for the pelvis and the lower limb part. Sometimes, the labeling is inconsistent. I would prefer the author using femoral head through the book instead of switching back and forth between head of femur and femoral head, for example. (I can't recall specific examples right now, but there are such inconsistencies in the book, which is really minor and does not obstruct your understanding at all.)

Overall, a great book that I would recommend to anyone who is studying medical imaging.
