Well done Shara. Well done.

Georgie and Beau's story has so many different twists and turns it kept me hooked form cover to cover. I loved everything about it. Shara told a great story of a man who knew what he wanted and went after it despite what everyone (except for his father) around him thought. He saw Georgie when she was a teenager and knew she had to be his. He waited for her to grow up before approaching her and there started one hell of a romance.
I love this book because it had a perfect ballance of drama, angst, sex and characters that made me feel involved in their happiness.
A great read dispite the few typos.

Dreams Do Come True

The only thing Georgie Willard wanted in life was a good man to marry, have children and the respect of the people within the community. Beau Dupuis wanted Georgie and tried to fight his attraction for her but in the end he got her with their relationship short lived.

Not to give anyway the story line I have to say I enjoyed this book. Beau fought hand and foot to get Georgie back after circumstances broke them apart. Personally I would of made Beau suffer a little longer. Georgie a strong woman refused to manipulate Beau unlike his mother. Her quite strength made her charactor lovable and you rooting for her to get her man back.

This is a must read. This book had an absolutely different flavor regarding IR romances. Rather than based on modern times, the storyline is based in the late 1930s. Needless to say, the atmosphere, when compared to today, is worlds apart. The characters continue to develop as the story goes on, and their love only deepens. Shara did a wonderful job incorporating not only the strong (Southern) convictions of the time, but also the worldly issues during that era. This book is simply about a man and a woman from different sides of the track, whose feelings for one another, although deemed by society as forbidden and "not right", was unstoppable.

Fantasy Love Story

As cliche and trite as some of the sentences appear, Dive Deep: Tidal Crest Book 1 by Jeff Erno, pays off with the realism and true emotions shared between the Olympic Diving Champion, Sam Lewis, and his merman lover, Percy. The reader is drawn into Erno's fantasy world and believes all things are possible, even the final twists that provides a happy- ending fairy tale. Erno's ability to project strong emotional drives is an artful craft in characterization. My only disappointment is it isn't long enough. I wanted more. I wanted to know more about the DSs (Dolphin Shifters). Dive Deep is a wonderful and enjoyble read.

Wonderful shifter/fantasy book.

Tidal Crest book 1 was very fun to read. It had all the elements of a great fantasy/shifter book. It was fast moving, emotional, and funny all at the same time. I had a great time reading it, and I really enjoyed the second book as well. I hope there are more in this universe.

About the Author
Richard W. Scamell serves as Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Professor of Decision and Information Sciences in the C. T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. He received his Ph.D. degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Since joining the faculty at Houston in 1972, he has taught more than two dozen different courses at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels, three of which have been focused in the database area. His publications have appeared in journals such as Management Science, MIS Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Decision Sciences, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, Communications of the ACM, Omega, and Information and Management.

Narayan S. Umanath is Professor [Emeritus] of Information Systems at the University of Cincinnati (UC) in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. He has been at UC since 1996 and served as the department head of Information Systems (IS) for 7 years. Before that, he has been a faculty member at the Pennsylvania State University at the main (University Park) campus and the University of Tulsa. Umanath also serves as a member of the faculty in the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science (DMACS) at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL) in Prashanti Nilayam, India in the capacity of Visiting Professor since 2003. Entering academia after 17 years of technical and managerial experience in software development, he received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Houston in 1987. His undergraduate and graduate educations are in mechanical engineering and industrial engineering, respectively. Umanath has research publications in the domains of data visualization for decision support, agency theory applications in the design of compensation contracts, organizational computing, and electronic integration in supply channels; his current research interests are in the domains of knowledge exchange in supply-chain relationships, and data modeling & data warehousing. His research publications have appeared in Management Science, Decision Sciences, Journal of MIS, Communications of the ACM, International Journal of Information Management, Information & Management, Information Resources Management Journal, Journal of Managerial Issues and National Academy Science Letters. Umanath has also co-authored a text book titled "Data Modeling & Database Design".

Admittedly a little rough, but Delivers the Goods.

The purchase of this textbook was required for my college course... partially because I was being taught by one of the authors himself!
The textbook is a little challenging to read BUT The book is written very well -- things are defined very clearly, albeit a bit dry.

I had no prior experience with any programming so I was also in worse shape than most, but managed to master the database jungle with SQL & the help of the book...
Great starting point for those learning Data Modeling and DB - I'd say one of the few textbooks out there that are worth holding on to.

it's amazing how much dr.scamell and dr.umanath trying to put into this textbook. they are not only trying to "write a textbook" but they are also trying to make sure people will learn from it. this book is so detailed, there's only one way you won't learn a thing -- not open the book at all. :D i'm originally an art major who just changed into mis, this is the second mis course i've ever take. if i can understand, i think most people won't have a problem.
definitely recommend this book to whoever is studying database right now!
