More than the name implies

Despite the name "encyclopedia," this is a comprehensive richly illustrated course on the art of saddle construction, as useful to the novice leathercrafter as to advanced saddle makers. Volume 1 lays the conceptual and theoretical foundation, with discussions of equine anatomy, the components of a saddle, and the techniques and tools of the craft, with instructions for constructing many of these tools. In Volume 2, the steps for making a single saddle are given, and Volume 3 rounds out the instruction with details of making three additional saddles. While these volumes focus on saddle-making, many of the techniques of leather working and stitching are applicable to the construction of a variety of leather items.

My father has been in the security business since 1984. After the first "search inside" I knew this reference was definitively a must. When finally had it on my hands I knew I wasn't wrong, it includes practically all that you otherwise would had learned after many years of intensive practice and research. Before you buy it, check the oficial site [...] and be sure about the product you want to purchase. If you want to get deeply involved in the security business this book is what you want, but if you are already a master or you belong to a locksmith association or you work for goverment then you should give a check to the digital sources of information ofered in the on-line site.

Incomparable. A work entitled to great respect.

This author wrote a book on this subject on or about 1971 and I was somewhat disappointed in that edition at that time. This book is another world. You would not think this was the same writer. It may have taken thirty years or so but it was well worth the wait. I do not think there is another book available on this subject that can even begin to compare with this creation.
Rarely will you have the opportunity to read such a definitive work on any subject. Clearly this author has made this his life's work. Those who have need of a definitive, all encompassing, and detailed treatise on a subject that effects all aspects of public safety will need and want this book. You can do no better. The coverage is extraordinary and includes: An historical view and understanding going back thousands of years; Detailed and technical discussion of the evolution of protective devices and the methods used to overcome them; Current and timely information on devices now available with an in depth explanation of their differences, effectiveness, and workability; Forensic examination; Standards and Testing; and more, more, more.
This book goes way beyond the basic needs of a Locksmith or Technician into the realm of Academic Instruction into all aspects of physical device security. For the Locksmith, Detective or other Safety Professional weeks of pleasurable reading and education await you in this tomb. When you climb out let me know. The only errors I have found so far have been typographical so this work appears to be fully authorative. Any attorney engaged in litigation in this subject area must have this book. The knowledge contained herein can prevent embarrassment for any government official with responsibility for physical device security. This book can aid in job security for various occupations. It will save countless hours of research into difficult to obtain references. There is also available a CD Rom with additional information.
My hat is off to this author. Normally a book like this is a collaboration of many people. I can see how it took 30 years to do it alone...

If you care about staying healthy or suffer with chronic illness, I recommend reading Health Forensics
and other books written by Steven Magee. He has not only researched extensively on the subject of Electromagnetic
Hypersensitivity (EHS) but has experienced the ill effects of it himself. So he knows firsthand.

I found Health Forensics to be written in a way that would be easy for anyone to read. The author gave very clear steps
on how we can protect ourselves from the modern day hazards in our environment. Some of them are right in plain view and
we don't even realize it.

In the book, he has shared invaluable information that, I believe, can help those of us who are already suffering from EHS,
prevent others from being adversely affected, and give us a way to live healthier lives.

Also, I would recommend this book for those who may have lyme disease, autoimmune disease, immune deficiency, lupus, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, just to name a few, or any unexplainable and persistent symptoms.

Decent book, lacks some explanations IMO

I started reading this book and it is a decent book. I think some of the explanations lack sufficient detail and it takes a while to figure out what the author is talking about. Comparing to other science books, I feel like it is not as clear... but I don't know of any other chemical kinetics book that would be better to recommend.

About the Author
Prof Dogan Ibrahim graduated from the University of Salford with First Class Honours in Electronic Engineering. He then completed an MSc course in Automatic Control Engineering at the University of Manchester, and PhD in Digital Signal Processing at the City University in London. Prof Ibrahim worked at several companies before returning to the academic life. He is currently a lecturer at the Department of Computer Information Systems at the Near East University. Prof Ibrahim is a Fellow of the IET, and a Chartered Electrical Engineer. His interests are in the fields of microcontroller based automatic control, digital signal processing, and computer aided design.

Decent PIC book

I purchased this book with the hopes that the large amount of projects would be helpful to me. While there are a wide variety of projects, most of them do not go into much depth and leave the reader without the detailed knowledge usually required to easily accomplish the project. Not a bad book, but not especially helpful to someone new to the PIC world.

Looking For An Intermediate Guide to Program In Basic ?

I found the book to be helpful with writing code in basic.The applications in the book include interfacing to a LCD; Seven segment displays; And measuring temperature using the DS1620.The author has done a good job introducing some good code for these applications, however I found the book to fall short, some of the code may be up to you to figure out on your own. It's seems to start off great in the introduction, then the author forgets about his audience towards the middle of the book. On the plus side, he describes how to make your code more efficient, however this can only gained by experience, and I would not recommend this book to a beginner.

About the Author
Tom Cooper is an Austrian aerial warfare analyst and historian. Following a career in worldwide transportation business during which he established a network of contacts in the Middle East and Africa he moved into narrow-focus analysis and writing on small, little-known air forces and conflicts (about which he has collected extensive archives). That resulted in specialisation in such Middle Eastern air forces as those of Egypt, Iran, Iraq and Syria - plus various African and Asian air forces. As well as writing and co-writing 25 other books and more than 400 articles, he has co-written an in-depth analysis of major Arab air forces at war with Israel during the period 1955-73 - resulting in the six-volume book series Arab MiGs.

A rather short but very informative analisys of the PLAAF organization in the context of the PRC's foreighn relations.

I didn't give this book the five stars lightly.

it is a short book about 80 pages of an analisys of the PLAAF, its theater commands and their respective orders of battle. it focuses on every theater and the PRC relations with the effected countries which gives context to the PLAAF intentions organization and capabilities in the theater.

this is extremely informative given the ptofound changes and reforms the PLAAF expirienced in the last decade.
